As I go along with my projects with this subject, and by sharing my culture and beliefs, I have learned and realized that I am happy where I am now and I am grateful for the factors that made me of who I am today.  I consider myself as an individual who is blessed and nurtured with the culture and beliefs that made up my values through my ancestors which are passed on through generation to generation.  As for me, I will still live up the culture and beliefs that I adopted personally and through the teachings and the good influence of my family, friends and loved ones.  I have seen nothing wrong to what I believe and practice today; therefore I choose to live out and will continue to observe these practices because I  know that all things are temporary in this world, but the memories from where and whom I got these cultures, practices and beliefs will continue to run through my heart and mind.

IDEALLY, I WOULD LIKE THE CULTURE OF....     To be honest, I am that type of person who typically goes with the flow. I was raised to be simple, to be contented of what I have and to embrace the values and beliefs of our family.      Since I am not used to go outdoors, because of the influence of my grandfather who didn't allow my parents to expose me outside our house, up until now, I always stay at home especially of I don't have work or there's no errands to do.      Since I was raised to be a simple, optimistic and a humble daughter, there is no other cultural background that I like most than that of the Filipino Culture.        No matter what happens, even if I would be forced to choose other countries and their culture, I would still choose the country where I was born and the culture that was instilled to me because this made me of who I am today. Filipinos are known for being optimistic especially when problems o...

MY ADOPTIVE TOWN/CITY     Practically speaking, my hometown Leganes is the first town to pass by when leaving the city going north. Though I grew up in Leganes and adopted the culture, beliefs, and practices of my own hometown, Iloilo City is what I considered to be as my adoptive city. This place plays a major influence of who I am today.                                                        ASSUMPTION ILOILO      I was asked by my parents when I was still a kid and is about to enter primary education where do I want to go to school. I excitingly answered "Assumption." I went to school here from Kinder to High School and I am proud to say that Assumption Iloilo molded me to become who I am today especially through their academic & values education.         ...

MY CULTURAL HERITAGE        In our family, what we culturally practice is based from the beliefs and practices of our older generations. We used to follow their cultural beliefs and traditions from  generations to generations. Our family believes in traditions such as “pahimag-o”, a simple celebration of thanks to our ancestors and to God for the abundance we have received every cropping season. Also, as a family who lives in the urban community, we still believe in “pahilot” wherein if an individual or a family member got injured, he/she may see someone who knows to “hilot”or have it “massaged.” We do believe in this healing because my lola (mama’s mother) was a known “manog hilot” during her time. For me, the most important thing that our older generations had passed on to us is our faith and strong belief in God the Almighty and to always offer mass intentions to our dear departed loved ones.        Today, our fami...

ANONYMITY

Anonymity as one of the basic principles of social media practice is accepted more readily online than in mainstream news media because on the online world, such as Facebook and other social media applications which features news articles, protecting one's right and identity is most common. Using of unknown names and pictures are mostly used online rather than in mainstream media portals such as newspapers and magazines.Print media do not practice this principle because factual news articles is the utmost concern of a responsible and ethical Journalist.      Online portals which features news articles may usually tend to be fantasized by "trolls" however, trolls are not considered as Journalists. Trolls make fake news via online streams to attract netizens and to let them believe and support what their aim is.      Codes of mainstream media ethics caution Journalists to use anonymous sources sparingly and only if certain rules are follow...
